AN ORCHESTRA will mark the Queen’s Jubilee this year with a special concert at Ripon Cathedral.
The Santa Cecília Orchestra will offer a special gala concert to honor the Queen’s platinum jubilee. It will feature a program full of some of the most beloved English orchestral music, written by Nidderdale actor and playwright Nevin Ward.

The program will open with the exciting march of the Orb and the Scepter of Walton, commissioned especially for Queen Elizabeth. The Britten Youth Orchestra Guide will also feature the concert.
The concert concludes with one of Elgar’s most popular works, The Enigma Variations, described by conductor Xenophon Kelsey as “surely one of the best pieces of English music ever written”.
